Senior Manager Supply

Location: Canary Wharf, London, United Kingdom

World Fuel is seeking an experienced Senior Manager Supply to lead aviation fuel supply operations across France, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

Reporting to the European Operations Director, this role is responsible for optimising regional fuel supply networks, driving operational performance, managing strategic supplier relationships, and supporting commercial growth across a portfolio of airport locations.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a supply chain, logistics, aviation fuel, commodities, or energy professional who can successfully balance operational excellence with commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Strategy & Commercial Performance

  • Lead aviation fuel supply operations across France, the UK, and Ireland.

  • Develop and execute regional supply strategies to optimise profitability, operational efficiency, and customer service.

  • Analyse market conditions, supply-demand trends, and operational performance to identify value creation opportunities.

  • Support commercial growth initiatives through supply chain solutions, cost analysis, and operational expertise.

  • Partner with commercial, pricing, and risk management teams to support strategic decision-making.

Logistics, Inventory & Supply Chain Management

  • Oversee fuel inventory management across airport locations within the region.

  • Ensure reliable fuel availability while optimising storage utilisation and working capital.

  • Monitor regional logistics networks, transportation routes, and supply infrastructure.

  • Identify potential supply chain risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

  • Support spot purchasing and inventory balancing activities where required.

Supplier & Contract Management

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with, Fuel suppliers, Transportation providers, Storage operators and Airport service partners

  • Lead supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Negotiate and manage commercial agreements with key service providers.

  • Drive improvements in service quality, reliability, and cost efficiency across the supply chain.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Supply Operations Managers.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.

  • Share best practices and promote operational excellence across regional teams.

Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation fuel, transportation, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support regional Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) initiatives and compliance obligations.

  • Participate in audits and regulatory reporting activities.

  • Maintain the highest standards of operational governance, compliance, and risk management.

Planning & Budget Management

  • Lead regional budget planning and operating activities.

  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast targets.

  • Provide regular business updates and performance reports to senior leadership.

  • Support long-term capacity planning and strategic growth initiatives.

Skills & Experience

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience in one or more of the following areas, Aviation fuel supply, Fuel logistics, Energy or commodities operations, Petroleum distribution, Supply chain leadership andTransportation and logistics management

  • Proven experience managing complex regional supply networks and operational teams.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving profitability and operational performance.

  • Experience negotiating and managing supplier and logistics contracts.

  • Strong forecasting, planning, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and coaching high-performing teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Fluent English and French language skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Direct experience within aviation fuel supply operations.

  • Knowledge of airport operations and into-plane services.

  • Exposure to commodity pricing, fuel markets, and risk management.

  • Understanding of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) regulations and industry mandates.

  • Experience working across multiple European markets.
