We’re looking for a Terminal Controller to lead terminal operations in Gibraltar—coordinating safe, efficient, and compliant fuel movements while driving strong team performance and safety culture on shift.Why You’ll Love This RoleOperational leadership: Take ownership of end-to-end terminal operations on shiftGlobal environment: Work in a critical hub supporting marine and fuel logisticsImpact: Play a key role in safety, performance, and operational excellenceTeam culture: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations teamWhat You’ll DoShift Leadership & OperationsAct as Shift Leader, overseeing terminal operations to ensure safe and efficient performanceAllocate resources and workloads across the shift based on operational demandLead, coach, and develop Terminal Operators to ensure high performance and capabilityAct as the primary escalation point for operational issues, incidents, and decision-makingFuel & Terminal OperationsOversee receipt, storage, and transfer of fuel products, including:Vessel receipt and discharge operationsTransfers to company-owned and third-party vesselsRoad tanker loading and unloadingEnsure all activities are performed in strict accordance with SOPs and operational standardsMonitor tank inventories, product temperatures, and blending activitiesPerform tank gauging and support month-end stock reconciliationMaintain accurate, real-time records of all product movementsSafety, Risk & Compliance (HSSEQ)Lead HSSEQ performance on shift, setting clear expectations and standardsDrive a strong safety culture through visible leadership and proactive interventionManage Control of Work activities, including:Permit to Work systemsRisk assessments and hazard identificationAct as Local Incident Manager (LIM) during incidents and emergenciesEnsure compliance with ISPS security requirements and site protocolsLead response to incidents, near misses, and emergency situationsSupport investigations and continuous improvement initiativesMaintenance & Continuous ImprovementConduct routine inspections and ensure findings are resolved or escalatedSupport minor maintenance activities and coordinate with engineering teamsMaintain high standards of terminal housekeeping and asset conditionIdentify and drive opportunities for operational and safety improvementsReporting & Stakeholder CollaborationMaintain accurate shift logs, operational records, and documentationSupport reporting of terminal KPIs and performance metricsCollaborate with planning, administrative, and engineering teamsWhat We’re Looking ForExperienceProven experience in fuel terminal, marine, or bulk liquid operationsPrevious supervisory or shift leadership experienceStrong experience working within strict HSSEQ frameworksSkillsStrong understanding of safe systems of work and risk managementConfidence to lead teams and challenge unsafe behaviorsExcellent communication and coordination skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to operate under pressureComfortable working at heights (up to 16m)Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)Other RequirementsAbility to work rotating shifts and flexible hoursStrong team player with leadership capability in an operational environment#WFS#LI-JH1Please note that by submitting an employment application you consent to World Fuel Services processing your information for this role and potentially for future employment opportunities, in accordance with applicable laws.
