Job Description: Carbon Reporting Consultant
The Carbon Consultant will be responsible for delivering Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon footprint reporting services and support for our external customers across the globe.
The role will involve working with internal and external stakeholders to scope and deliver tailored carbon management and reporting services to clients. Key tasks will include customer communications and client management, understanding complex carbon reporting requirements, scoping the service provision and delivering against agreed objectives. Workstreams will necessitate familiarity with energy data acquisition, data analysis, carbon accounting, global carbon reporting, as well as experienced client service and presentational skills.
Responsibilities
- Supporting global clients with their Carbon Accounting journey through our centralised platform.
- Focus on data analytics and management to feed into our client’s carbon accounting strategies and decarbonization projects.
- Assembling and validating energy data, calculations of carbon emissions and formulating methodologies and processes to support.
- Preparing and presenting formal performance reporting and analytics to clients.
- Carrying out data and calculation assurance for the wider team.
- Organization of documentation and construction of audit trails.
- Supporting Service Delivery and Commercial teams within World Kinect as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Carbon accounting business development and innovation, assisting with client management, driving new sales and opportunities within the client base.
- Drive innovation in the wider Sustainability Team using expertise on carbon accounting.
- Managing delivery of all associated workstreams and customer expectations.
Person Specification (Background and Skills)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in carbon accounting and carbon management.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
- Solid understanding of carbon accounting methodologies and emission factors.
- Proven customer-facing experience.
- Solid numeracy skills, confidence in working with large data sets and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent English and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical competencies.
- Confident relationship-builder.
- Excellent client management and project management skills.
