This is a highly hands‑on role, suited to someone equally comfortable shaping strategy and directly delivering campaigns, assets, platforms and audience engagement activity in a lean and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event marketing ownership
    • Own and lead the end-to-end marketing strategy and execution for global events, aligned to audience growth, engagement, brand visibility and commercial objectives.
    • Define and continuously evolve the marketing approach across the full event lifecycle, from early market positioning and campaign development through to post‑event engagement and retention.
    • Act as the organisation’s internal lead on event marketing strategy and execution, establishing direction, standards, and best practice across campaigns and delivery.
    • Ensure marketing strategies are informed by robust audience insights, performance data and measurable engagement frameworks.
  • Audience insight and segmentation
    • Lead the development of audience insight and segmentation strategies, including audience behaviours, motivations, market dynamics and regional considerations.
    • Define clear target audiences and differentiated value propositions for each event, ensuring relevance and competitive positioning across global markets.
    • Use audience data, market intelligence and campaign performance to inform strategic decision‑making, prioritisation and growth opportunities.
  • Campaign strategy and delivery
    • Lead the design and hands‑on delivery of integrated marketing campaigns and audience engagement activity, working closely with internal teams, suppliers and partners to ensure high‑quality execution across global markets.
    • Define campaign objectives, KPIs and success metrics aligned to audience acquisition, engagement, conversion, commercial performance and brand visibility.
    • Manage the production and optimisation of marketing assets, branding materials, digital platforms and audience touchpoints, including event websites, e‑mail campaigns and journeys, registration integration, apps and promotional content.
    • Ensure campaigns are insight‑led, targeted and continuously optimised for performance across channels, markets and audience segments.
    • Manage relationships with external creative, digital, media and content agencies / suppliers to ensure high‑quality and timely campaign execution across markets.
  • Performance and optimisation
    • Own campaign and audience performance reporting, developing dashboards and frameworks that provide clear visibility on growth, engagement, conversion and ROI metrics.
    • Translate performance data into actionable insights and recommendations to continuously improve marketing effectiveness and audience outcomes.
    • Establish scalable tools, processes and reporting frameworks to strengthen long‑term marketing capability and performance management.
    • Support the effective integration and management of marketing, registration and CRM platforms, ensuring strong data governance, compliance and alignment across systems.
  • Commercial alignment and growth
    • Partner closely with commercial teams to ensure marketing strategies directly support revenue growth, sponsorship objectives and market expansion priorities.
    • Contribute to forecasting, pipeline development and commercial development through audience analysis, campaign insights and market intelligence.
    • Support the development of compelling audience and partner propositions that strengthen delegate acquisition, engagement and sponsor value.
    • Develop and manage strategic media, industry and ecosystem relationships to strengthen event visibility, audience reach and market positioning globally.
    • Develop audience growth strategies that strengthen the long‑term visibility, reach and commercial sustainability of the Congress & Convening portfolio.
  • Event experience and cross-functional contribution
    • Ensure audience insights meaningfully inform programme design, event formats and the overall event experience.
    • Collaborate closely with programme and operations teams to deliver a seamless, high‑quality end‑to‑end participant journey.
    • Flex into event planning and onsite delivery where required, contributing as a strong all‑round event professional.
  • Innovation and capability building
    • Bring fresh thinking and innovation to event marketing strategies, audience engagement approaches and event experience design.
    • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies and evolving best practice across events, audience engagement and digital marketing.
    • Help embed a more insight‑led, performance‑oriented and commercially focused marketing capability within the Congress & Convening team.
