The role ensures the flow of information and decisions, coordinates governance, and drives follow‑through on priorities across the organisation and global network.

You’ll serve as a trusted adviser and the primary interface between the CEO, senior leadership, and external stakeholders – ensuring clarity, coordination, and momentum at every step.

  • Orchestrate information, actions and decisions to and from the CEO; ensure consistent messaging and timely follow‑up.
  • Prepare timely and high‑quality briefs, speeches and reports; ensure the CEO is fully prepared for meetings, travel and media.
  • Translate external engagements and travel into clear outcomes and organisational follow‑through, including oversight of the international travel and engagement schedule.

Stakeholder relationship management

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Officers, Board members, Member Committee Chairs, Patron CEOs, Executive Chairs, Senior Advisors and partners. Work with colleagues to support coordinated delivery to sustain and grow strategic relationships.
  • Work with teams to sustain the CEO’s visibility in priority geographies and communities.

Strategic support

  • Provide insight and advice to the CEO on priorities, risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the COO to translate priorities into coordinated implementation and to connect the dots across the organisation.
  • Coordinate the Senior Leadership Team agenda, ensuring preparation, alignment and follow‑up. Provide synthesis and advice on priorities, risks and opportunities.
  • Link executive decisions and governance outcomes to the delivery of organisational strategy.

Governance management

  • Working closely with COO and Director of Membership, oversee core governance processes (Officers’ Council, standing committees, Executive Assembly).
  • Lead forward planning, agendas and papers; ensure timeliness and alignment with strategy and standards.
  • Safeguard compliance with statutes, by‑laws and procedures (elections, resolutions, membership governance); track relevant policy and regulatory developments.
  • Enable active Member Committee engagement and support governance modernisation (tools, practices, inclusivity).
  • Oversee the onboarding of governance members and maintain the annual governance calendar.
  • Plan agendas and papers; keep governance timely, compliant and aligned with Articles and statutory requirements.

About You

  • Skilled at connecting strategy, governance, and execution – balancing big‑picture thinking with attention to detail with a strong synthesis and analytical capability.
  • Strategic, globally minded professional with significant experience in supporting senior leaders or boards.
  • Strong communicator and influencer, able to represent the CEO with authority, credibility, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Highly organised and resilient, with exceptional judgement and diplomacy under pressure.
  • Proven governance expertise and strong project management capability; experience supporting or leading board‑level processes.
  • Champion of modernisation and better ways of working across teams.
