This role is in support of Cencora's global logistics and storage services marketed through our World Courier business. World Courier, part of Cencora, is a global leader in logistics and storage solutions, delivering innovative services tailored to the needs of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. We are seeking a Business Development Executive to join our team in the UK. We have 2 positions, one in the North and one covering the South. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to take ownership of a portfolio, nurture existing clients, and drive new business growth across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Develop New Accounts: Identify, qualify, and prioritise potential opportunities to build a strong client base, showcasing World Courier’s industry‑leading logistics and storage services.
- Client Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of new and existing clients across various markets, nurturing relationships to drive growth and deliver tailored solutions.
- Customer Insights: Build an in‑depth understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, and strategic goals to position World Courier as their trusted logistics and storage partner.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop value‑added partnerships with key decision‑makers to position long‑term strategic solutions aligned with World Courier’s offerings.
- Promote World Courier Capabilities: Showcase the full range of Cencora’s logistics and storage services to clients, emphasising our innovative solutions for clinical trials, commercial pharma, and gene therapy.
- Marketing Initiatives: Represent World Courier at marketing campaigns, trade shows, and seminars to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to develop high‑impact, complex, and strategic solutions tailored to customer needs.
- KPI Management: Monitor and improve quality through specific metrics, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution, ensuring World Courier’s standards are met.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify risk areas and implement contingency plans to mitigate them.
- Market Exploration: Identify new market opportunities and drive business expansion.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Track sales pipelines and key performance indicators to ensure targets are met and opportunities are maximised.
- Experience: Must be able to demonstrate experience in Business Development or Sales role within the Commercial/Clinical Pharma industry.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to grow and manage client portfolios, with a hunter mentality to secure new business.
- Skills: Strong relationship management, strategic thinking, and customer‑focused approach. Experience in the logistics/transport sector and/or pharmaceutical/life science industry.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- High customer orientation and strong communication/presentation skills, verbally & written.
