World Courier— a global leader in specialty logistics and temperature‑controlled supply chain solutions—is seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Transport Controller to join our Domestic Desk team at our Feltham site.
Key Details
- Location: Feltham (Fully On‑Site)
- Hours: 8.5 hours per shift with a 30‑minute break (40 hours per week)
- Shift Pattern: Monday–Friday rotating shifts between 4:00am–8:00pm; weekend working and overtime as required
- Prerequisite: Airport security clearance and a DBS check before starting
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate collections and deliveries across a fleet of drivers and domestic agents.
- Communicate all relevant consignment information to drivers and stakeholders clearly and efficiently.
- Monitor emails, mobile communications, and our Transport Management System (TMS).
- Update and track consignments on our internal system.
- Download and distribute temperature monitor data for customer‑service analysis.
- Prepare specialist packaging and temperature‑controlled consignments, and manage packaging stock levels.
- Work closely with the Duty Controller and Department Lead Team to keep the Domestic Desk running to the highest standard.
- Drive when required to support the wider team.
- Perform general administration, including filing and paperwork.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential:
- Proven background in Transport Coordination, Transport Planning, or a similar Controller role.
- Experience in routing and transport planning for drivers.
- Road freight or logistics background.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to prioritise, multitask, and stay calm under pressure.
- Flexible attitude—this role involves shift work and occasional last‑minute coverage.
- Valid driving licence.
- Willingness to undergo airport security clearance and a DBS check.
- Desirable:
- Experience in customs, import/export operations.
- Background in temperature‑controlled logistics.
