We are seeking an experienced and passionate Mental Health Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team in Barnet. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting adults and carers to achieve positive outcomes, maintain independence, and improve wellbeing through high-quality, strengths-based social work practice.

As part of a dedicated and supportive team, you will work in accordance with the Care Act 2014, local authority policies, and professional standards to deliver person‑centred care and safeguarding interventions.

Role Description
  • Provide high-quality social work services to adults and carers in line with statutory responsibilities under the Care Act 2014.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, reviews, and outcome‑focused care and support planning.
  • Promote wellbeing, independence, and resilience through strengths‑based approaches and preventative support.
  • Safeguard adults at risk and apply Making Safeguarding Personal principles in practice.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals, families, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and signposting to local services and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, reflective practice, and team development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Minimum 3 years’ references/work history
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Experience within Adult Mental Health Social Work
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, safeguarding, and outcome‑focused practice
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills
