For almost 40 years, World Challenge has been creating powerful personal development opportunities for young people through experiential travel. Working in close partnership with schools, we design and deliver student-led expeditions and immersive learning experiences across the globe. Through challenge, responsibility and reflection, young people develop confidence, perspective and the ability to articulate who they are and what they are capable of, with impact that lasts well beyond the journey itself.
The role involves joining our team as a Seasonal/Temporary Operations Assistant. This is an office-based job, working night shifts during our busiest travel period. You will help make sure our overnight operations run smoothly and respond quickly to any urgent issues.
- Contract: Seasonal/Temporary
- Location: Office-based
- Shifts: Night shifts, 10.5 hours each
- Pattern: 3 nights on, 3 nights off
- Total commitment: Minimum 13 shifts (136.5 hours)
- Main working period: Late June to early August
- Additional work: You may be offered extra night shifts, weekend daytime cover, or occasional support at other times, depending on business needs and your availability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support teams travelling overnight during the busiest time of the year
- Monitor ongoing operations and deal with incidents or unexpected problems
- Communicate clearly with parents, our internal teams, and external partners
- Keep accurate records and follow our procedures
- Make sure daytime teams receive clear and complete handovers

- Able to commit to night shifts on the 3 on, 3 off rota
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Well organised and able to manage several tasks at once
- Quick to respond to changing priorities and situations
- Reliable, pay attention to detail, and able to work independently at night
