Work with York Limited is working with our York‑based client to find an experienced Social Worker Consultant for Practice Development work within their Adult Social Care Services team. This is a temporary 6‑month assignment with a scope to be extended, full‑time Monday to Friday, with hybrid working available and weekly access to the York office required. Competitive rate of weekly pay, holiday pay and pension with online timesheets.

The focus of this role is to ensure high quality practice in accordance with procedures, practice guidance and the Practice Model. Supporting and training direct case holders across front door, reablement and hospital social work. Working with Service Managers through supervision of practitioners, particularly ASYE, those in the early stages of their career and those who do not hold a Social Work qualification, driving practice and overall outcomes for people with social care needs and their carers. Providing peer support to qualified social workers to ensure a high quality practice. Assisting social workers with decision making. Completing project work.

Essential skills and experience for this role:

  • A relevant Social Work qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years recent Social Work experience within Adult Social Work, including front door, reablement and hospital.
  • IT skills, preferably experienced with Mosaic.
  • Be eligible to work within the UK.
  • Must be SWE registered.
  • Have an enhanced adults DBS on the Update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
  • Be able to show creativity and uphold strong values and standards.
