Our local authority client is looking for Gardeners to join their operations team in York. This is for an immediate start until mid September 2026. The role will involve working across a wide variety of residential sites across York. This is a full time role, 37 hours a week, from Monday to Friday. The rate of pay is £13.86 per hour. Onsite inductions will be held on 1st June 2026, so you need to be available to start then. Previous experience of gardening, horticulture or similar would be extremely advantageous.

The purpose of this role is to carry out (where necessary) gardening and horticultural work/maintenance. Other duties will include:

  • cutting
  • pruning
  • mowing
  • litter picking
  • sweeping
  • weeding
  • emptying public bins

You MUST hold a current full UK driving licence, be used to working outdoors and be physically fit. For this role, a vehicle, equipment and PPE will be provided.
