The role leads a team of Contract Experts and oversees the operations of the legal contracting division, ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, maintaining operational excellence, and supporting international employment contracting processes.
What You’ll Be Doing Team Leadership & Support- Manage and mentor a team of Contract Experts.
- Conduct 1:1 meetings, appraisals, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulatory requirements across multiple countries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing employment legislation.
- Develop and optimise legal processes and workflows.
- Identify legal risks and provide strategic advice for mitigation.
- Oversee employment contract generation and negotiation.
- Approve special clauses requested by clients/agencies.
- Liaise with local lawyers to keep contracts aligned with local laws.
- Handle complex cases and escalations.
- Drive the achievement of team KPIs and targets.
- Evaluate and enhance systems, including CRM and portals, for efficiency.
- Approve new sales and ensure contract processes run smoothly via tools like DocuSign.
- Chase and manage contract extensions or terminations with agencies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with other departments; Communicate legal and compliance updates to relevant teams; Spot business opportunities and liaise with the sales team accordingly.
- Has 3+ years of experience working with employment or temporary engagement contracts domestically or internationally.
- Has worked with international employees or contractors via a recruitment or consulting company, an umbrella company, an HR department or an EOR (Employer of Record) model.
- Understands employment law in the UK or EU and knows how to source or apply it effectively.
- Can confidently negotiate contract clauses with agencies and clients.
- Brings operational experience within a legal or contracting division.
- Is proficient with DocuSign and CRM tools.
- Holds a certification or degree in Law or Business Management (preferred but not essential).
- Is highly organised, proactive, and a natural leader who leads by example.
- Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
