We’re recruiting a Night Shift Manager as production continues to increase, creating a crucial leadership opportunity within the dairy. This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who wants autonomy, impact and progression in a supportive setting. As production grows, we are looking for a proactive Night Shift Manager to lead our night team. The role is pivotal in ensuring that cleaning, hygiene, compliance and site readiness are completed to a high standard before day-shift production begins.
The Role
You’ll be the senior leader on-site overnight, ensuring the factory is fully prepared for the next day’s production. The work combines strong people leadership with a focus on hygiene, CIP activities, food safety and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the night-shift team
- Plan and allocate staff to ensure full coverage
- Maintain compliance with food safety standards, Codes of Practice and company policies
- Use Quality Management Systems to record accurate data
- Lead investigations and implement improvements
- Maintain high GMP standards and audit readiness
- Communicate key updates and issues through structured handovers
- Promote a culture of safety, quality and responsibility
About You
We’re looking for a calm, confident shift leader who can motivate a team, maintain standards and keep operations running smoothly overnight.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous leadership/shift management in food manufacturing, processing or hygiene
- Strong understanding of cleaning, hygiene or CIP processes
- Confident leading teams and managing performance
- Comfortable working within food safety, compliance and audit frameworks
- Methodical, organised and detail-focused
- Able to make sound decisions under pressure
Desirable
- Level 3 food hygiene / HACCP training
- Experience supporting CI or Lean projects
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in management and leadership
