We are looking for an experienced PMO or Programme Management professional with a strong background in engineering, manufacturing, product development or complex project environments.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of PMO / Programme Manager to take ownership of a growing portfolio of engineering, product development and customer delivery projects.

This is a senior leadership position where you will establish and lead the PMO, introduce robust programme management processes and provide clear visibility of project performance, resources, budgets, risks and delivery to the senior leadership team.

You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully while improving programme governance, planning and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Manage a portfolio of internal engineering and external customer projects.
  • Establish effective programme governance, processes and reporting.
  • Develop and manage programme plans, schedules, milestones and dependencies.
  • Monitor project performance across cost, quality, resource and delivery.
  • Lead resource and capacity planning across the business.
  • Identify and manage programme risks, issues and recovery plans.
  • Lead Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) in conjunction with procurement and supply chain.
  • Manage project stakeholders, suppliers and third-party partners.
  • Provide regular programme and commercial reports to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lessons-learned activity.
  • Lead, develop and support project management team members.

You will ideally have

  • Proven experience running or establishing a PMO.
  • Strong programme and project management experience.
  • Experience delivering engineering and/or product development projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of programme planning, governance, monitoring and control.
  • Experience with budgets, resource planning and procurement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience reporting to and advising senior leadership teams.
  • SAP and Microsoft Project experience is desirable.
  • MSP, APM, PRINCE2 or similar project/programme management qualification is desirable.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience is advantageous.
  • Construction project experience would be beneficial.
