About the Role
Our client is looking for a commercially focused Account Manager to join their growing team in Redditch. This is a varied role with a strong 70% focus on account management, customer relationships and sales, alongside 30% marketing activity supporting the growth and development of the business. You’ll be responsible for managing and developing existing customer accounts, identifying new sales opportunities, generating additional revenue through upselling and cross-selling, while also supporting the company’s marketing activity across digital channels, content and campaigns. The role would suit someone who enjoys being customer-facing and commercially driven, but also has a genuine interest in marketing and enjoys having a varied day-to-day role.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management & Sales – 70%
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing B2B customer accounts.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, understanding their requirements and providing commercially focused solutions.
- Identify opportunities to upsell, cross-sell and increase account value.
- Proactively contact customers to generate repeat and additional business.
- Develop new business opportunities through outbound calls, lead follow-up and proactive sales activity.
- Prepare quotations, follow up opportunities and convert enquiries into sales.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information within the CRM system.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and smooth delivery.
- Monitor account performance, sales activity and KPIs.
- Marketing – 30%
- Support the delivery of the company’s wider marketing strategy.
- Create and coordinate engaging content for LinkedIn, social media, website and email campaigns.
- Assist with marketing campaigns, promotions and customer communications.
- Develop marketing materials, presentations, case studies and sales collateral.
- Help maintain and update website content.
- Monitor engagement and campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct basic competitor and market research.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure marketing activity supports lead generation and commercial objectives.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident and customer-focused, with experience in account management, internal sales or business development. You should have:
- Previous experience in B2B sales, account management or customer-facing commercial roles.
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Experience identifying sales opportunities and increasing revenue from existing accounts.
- Confident telephone and communication skills, including outbound sales activity.
- Good commercial awareness and a target-driven approach.
- Some experience or strong interest in marketing, content or social media.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
