The Vacancy

We're looking for a Customer Project Manager to join our Customer Fit Out team and play a key role in delivering customer-led projects across the Workspace portfolio. This is an opportunity for someone with experience in construction, fit-out, refurbishment, or property project management who enjoys working with customers, managing multiple projects, and turning requirements into practical, high-quality workspace solutions.

As part of the Customer Fit Out team, you'll manage projects from initial enquiry through to completion and handover, working closely with customers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders. You'll be responsible for delivering alterations, fit-outs, refurbishments, and improvement works safely, efficiently, and to budget, while ensuring an excellent customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse property portfolio, balancing technical delivery, commercial awareness, stakeholder management, and operational excellence to create spaces that meet customer needs and support the continued success of Workspace.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing customer fitouts, alterations, refurbishments, and improvement projects from initial enquiry through to completion and handover.
  • Working closely with customers to understand their requirements and develop practical, commercially viable workspace solutions.
  • Coordinating contractors, consultants, suppliers, building teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Preparing project scopes, budgets, quotations, programmes, and delivery plans.
  • Monitoring project progress, managing risks, resolving issues, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Providing technical advice relating to building fabric, M&E services, fire safety, accessibility, and statutory requirements.
  • Managing projects within occupied buildings while minimising disruption to customers and day-to-day operations.
  • Procuring and managing contractors and consultants, ensuring quality performance and value for money.
  • Supporting project completion, snagging, handovers, and post-project reviews.
  • Contributing insights and recommendations to wider refurbishment, redevelopment, and sustainability initiatives across the portfolio.

What You'll Need

  • Experience managing construction, refurbishment, fit-out, or property-related projects.
  • Experience delivering projects from feasibility, procurement, and construction through to completion and handover.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction, building fabric, and M&E services.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, quotations, and project costs.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements, Building Regulations, fire safety, and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and solution-focused approach.
  • Relevant qualification in construction, property, project management, fit-out, or equivalent practical experience.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering projects within occupied or operational buildings.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts or similar forms of construction contract.
  • Experience within commercial property, flexible workspace, or multi-site environments.

This role requires you to be in the office with regular travel to sites across the Workspace portfolio.
