Job Description
To provide professional, efficient and compliant plumbing, heating and gas maintenance services across Worksop College and Ranby House Preparatory School. The post holder will ensure the safe operation, maintenance and improvement of the schools plumbing, heating and hot water systems, including statutory gas safety compliance, while supporting the Estates Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and install plumbing, heating and hot water systems across all school buildings.
- Undertake reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
- Ensure full compliance with Gas Safe regulations and maintain all required documentation.
- Support legionella management procedures and water hygiene tasks.
- Diagnose faults effectively and apply solutions in a timely manner.
Operational Responsibilities
- Work to tight deadlines and complete tasks within required timescales.
- Assist the Estates Manager in ensuring heating systems are operated effectively and efficiently.
- Carry out project work as required, including installations and refurbishments.
- Provide support during emergencies, breakdowns or urgent maintenance needs.
- Work flexibly across both school sites, adapting to operational priorities.
Compliance, Safety & Standards
- Work in full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, reporting accidents and near misses.
- Adhere to the Schools Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding policies.
- Ensure all work is completed to high standards and in line with statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of works completed, inspections, and servicing.
Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Headmaster or Estates Manager.
- Support the smooth running of the Estates department and contribute to high standards of business practice.
- Participate in required training, including safeguarding and health & safety.
