Are you an experienced Floor Layer with strong carpet and vinyl fitting skills, laminate, and the ability to weld? We are recruiting skilled Floor Layers to work across social housing properties in the Portsmouth area, carrying out reactive repairs and planned flooring works. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable Floor Layer who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and professional service within occupied and void properties. The role starts on a self-employed basis for the first 12 weeks, with a temporary-to-permanent opportunity and PAYE options available thereafter. A company van and fuel card are provided, with ongoing work available for the right candidate. Applicants must live within the Portsmouth area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install carpets and vinyl flooring to a high standard
  • Complete vinyl welding and heat-welded joints
  • Measure and prepare areas for flooring installation
  • Remove existing carpets and vinyl flooring
  • Prepare and level subfloors before installation
  • Carry out reactive flooring repairs and replacements
  • Work within occupied and void social housing properties
  • Complete work professionally and leave areas clean and tidy
