Workshop Recruitment are looking for experienced roofers to work on maintenance contracts in the Portsmouth area, you may be required to work in the wider Hampshire area from time to time. This is for one of our clients whose property portfolio includes, but not limited to, Social Housing, Schools, Public Conveniences, Offices, Heritage Sites and Museums.
The key activities you will undertake in this role will be; A wide variety of roofing repairs at occupied homes, buildings and empty properties. The work will include; pitch, and flat roof repairs including replacement of tiles, felt, eave trays, lead repairs/replacement, mineral sheet repairs/replacement (torch on), and non-licenced asbestos removal (where full training will be given).
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- NVQ level 2-3 in roofing or equivalent.
- Trade based experience may be considered.
- Clean, Manual, Driving License
- A DBS/Criminal Background check will be completed prior to employment starting
- 2 – 5 yrs. experience of working in Social Housing or Building Maintenance environment.
- Ability to work at height.
- Be able to demonstrate you are a competent tradesperson and have the tools to do the work.
- Have the prerequisite technical, statutory, and legislative knowledge for the trades you perform for the company ensuring you keep abreast of updates and changes.
- Have knowledge of the materials and methods used in the building and maintenance industry working on historic / listed buildings.
- Be comfortable in dealing with residents / building representatives and always remain professional.
- Understand the need to complete outstanding pieces of work and deal with work, completely and in one go.
- Be able to self-manage and be self-motivated, prioritizing and programming work in the most efficient manner.
