Our client is seeking a Quality and Safety Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing both quality assurance and safety protocols within their sheet metal manufacturing operations. This role ensures that products meet the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe working environment. The coordinator will collaborate closely with production teams, management, suppliers, and external auditors to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance, and promote a culture of quality and safety across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage all quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and ISO regulations.
- Conduct inspections, manage quality documentation, and drive continuous improvement using corrective action tools (e.g. 8D).
- Oversee supplier quality, incoming materials, weld certifications, and calibration of measurement equipment.
- Lead safety management across the site, including audits, risk assessments, training, and incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports, support audits, and communicate quality and safety performance to management, customers, and suppliers.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of quality and safety management systems, including ISO accreditation processes, Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and experience with tools like 8D and 5Y.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in using quality and safety management software and tools for monitoring and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to train, influence, and collaborate with employees at all levels within the organisation.
