Our client is a well-established building and maintenance company; due to their expansion, they are looking for experienced multi traders to join the team in the Portsmouth area. You will be carrying out work on a social housing contract, reactive maintenance, and planned works.
You will be working in the Social Housing sector/domestic properties within the Portsmouth area. Must have extensive knowledge in:
- 1st/2nd fix carpentry
- Kitchen installations
- Bathroom installations
- Repairing minor leaks
- Replacing sanitary wear
- Ceramic wall tiling
- Vinyl flooring
- 1st/2nd fix plumbing
- Painting & decorating
Must be able to solder, be prepared to work with non-licensed asbestos removal (where full training will be given), and also have experience in external works. A DBS check will be carried out if successful.
Must live within a 20-mile radius of Portsmouth. You must also have the ability to deal with voids, have excellent material knowledge, work on your own/manage your day-to-day works, liaise with your supervisor, and work with other trades when needed. Keep the van clean and tidy at all times, and must have a clean driving license.
This is a self-employed position. After a three-month period, there may be PAYE options available, or you can continue as a self-employed operative. Must provide 2 sources of references.
