Senior Catchment Officer & Agriculture Lead HavantFull-Time – 38 hours per week | Permanent£44,400 – £52,300

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of agricultural catchment incentive and grant schemes
  • Build strong relationships with farmers, landowners, agronomists and stakeholders
  • Undertake farm visits and catchment walkovers to identify water quality risks
  • Provide practical advice on soil, nutrient and manure management
  • Develop and deliver farmer workshops, presentations and engagement activities
  • Support farmer groups and wider catchment partnership initiatives
  • Develop programmes to measure the impact of changing land management practices
  • Manage scheme budgets, reporting, regulatory activity and relevant risk assessments

Skills & Experience

  • Strong agricultural knowledge and relevant industry experience
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in agriculture, environmental or related discipline
  • Strong technical knowledge of agronomy and catchment management
  • Experience engaging with farmers, landowners and environmental regulators
  • Knowledge of soils, nutrient and manure management
  • Understanding of water quality and environmental management
  • Experience with agricultural or environmental grant and funding schemes
  • Full UK driving licence and confidence working independently in the field
  • BASIS Foundation and additional qualifications such as FACTS are desirable.
