Buyer Havant | £40,000–£45,000 | Full-Time | 3–6 Month Contract with Potential Permanent Opportunity Are you an experienced Buyer with strong supplier management, commercial negotiation and ERP purchasing experience? A well-established international manufacturing business in Havant is looking for a Buyer to join its procurement team on an initial 3–6 month contract, with the potential to become permanent. As Buyer, you will manage key spend categories and take responsibility for price, quality and delivery performance. You will work closely with suppliers, Planning and Finance to maintain material availability, control inventory and support production requirements. Job Responsibilities Develop and implement sourcing strategies to improve on-time delivery performance. Negotiate pricing with suppliers to ensure competitive commercial terms. Manage supplier relationships across the UK and Europe. Work with Planning to ensure materials are purchased in line with production schedules. Monitor stock levels and balance inventory against product usage. Identify alternative supply options where materials are unavailable or lead times are excessive. Maintain supplier performance data and provide sourcing updates to internal teams. Support contract preparation, renewals and ongoing supplier agreements. Skills & Knowledge Required Demonstrate significant Buyer-level experience across commodity and supplier management. Have strong commercial supply chain experience. Possess experience using MRP or ERP purchasing systems. Ideally have knowledge of Microsoft D365 or AX or a similar ERP platform. Use Microsoft Excel confidently, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs. Demonstrate strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders. Experience within manufacturing, engineering, biopharma or life sciences would be advantageous.
