We're recruiting a Branch Sales Executive to join a busy and customer-focused trade branch in Derby. This is a highly front-facing retail and trade role, ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, delivering excellent service, and working in a fast-paced sales environment.
As a Branch Sales Executive, you'll be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers, representing the branch on the trade counter, supporting sales activity, and ensuring every customer receives a professional, knowledgeable and friendly experience. Your key focus will be serving trade and retail customers face‐to‐face and over the phone, supporting branch sales performance and day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities:- Providing exceptional customer service on the trade counter
- Driving trade counter sales and supporting branch sales targets
- Generating quotes, processing orders, and identifying sales opportunities
- Confidently advising customers on products, availability, pricing and lead times
- Processing card and cash payments accurately, following cash control procedures
- Maintaining strong product knowledge, including new and existing ranges
- Supporting stock control, deliveries, and goods-in processes
- Keeping the branch front‐of‐house, displays and point‐of‐sale areas tidy and professional
- Working closely with the Branch Manager and other internal teams
- Experience in a customer-facing sales role (retail, trade counter or branch-based)
- Knowledge of construction trade is essential, electrical wholesalers, Screwfix type outlets
- A confident, friendly and professional manner with customers
- Strong communication skills, both face‐to‐face and over the phone
- A proactive approach to sales and customer engagement
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
- Basic IT skills (MS Office and sales/order systems)
- Trade counter experience is desirable but not essential
- A full UK driving licence is advantageous
- £28-31K plus commission
- Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
