We are looking for a person with intelligence and technical aptitude to start or further develop their career as an Equipment Technician. You will focus on preparing, calibrating, testing, and maintaining the fleet of specialist environmental monitoring equipment. You will be the main point of contact for colleagues regarding instrument availability, and the preparation of company web applications for client access to instrument data. You will be working 40 hrs/week at their workshop in Stockport, with flexible start and finish times to suit your circumstances.

Essential skills:

  • Practical use of hand-tools
  • Practical experience following instructions or guidance for assembly or disassembly of equipment, devices, or systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Excel
  • Accurately following SOPs for processes such as data entry
  • Strong numerical skills
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and Science (or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Capable of safely completing manual handling tasks up to 25kg

Desirable skills:

  • An interest in engineering, maths, science, or technology
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. degree, HND, HNC, NVQ, apprenticeship etc)
  • Experience working with electronics
  • Experience of data analysis
  • Experience with gas monitoring devices
  • A full, clean, UK driving license

The company offers training where needed, flexible start and finish times, free onsite parking, attractive company pension, private medical insurance, a salary circa £27,000 to £31,000 negotiable depending on experience and discretionary annual Company bonus.
