As part of our continued growth, we are establishing a significant new Bristol office to support increasing demand across the South West. This expansion is being anchored by the delivery of a landmark commercial office refurbishment scheme in Bristol, representing one of the region's most exciting workplace transformation projects.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal role in both the successful delivery of this flagship project and the establishment of our Bristol delivery capability.

The Role

The Senior Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of major commercial office refurbishment and fit-out projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is a leadership role requiring outstanding project management expertise, stakeholder engagement, commercial awareness and team management skills. The successful candidate will lead project teams, coordinate consultants and subcontractors, manage programme and risk, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.

In addition to project delivery responsibilities, the role will support the growth of Workplace Futures Group's Bristol operation by helping to establish strong local client relationships, supply chain partnerships and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership
    • Lead the end-to-end delivery of major commercial office refurbishment and fit-out projects.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project delivery programmes.
    • Establish project strategies, methodologies and delivery plans.
    • Coordinate all project activities through pre-construction, mobilisation, construction and handover.
    • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
    • Lead project teams and provide clear direction to all stakeholders.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.
    • Build trusted relationships with occupiers, landlords, consultants and professional teams.
    • Lead client meetings, progress reviews and project reporting.
    • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction at every stage of the project lifecycle.
    • Support business development activities and represent Workplace Futures Group within the Bristol market.
  • Commercial Management
    • Work closely with Commercial Managers to maintain full control of project costs.
    • Monitor financial performance, budgets, forecasts and risk registers.
    • Manage change control processes and commercial decision making.
    • Review procurement strategies and subcontractor packages.
    • Drive value engineering opportunities while protecting quality and programme objectives.
  • Programme Management
    • Develop, monitor and regularly update project programmes.
    • Identify risks, delays and constraints early and implement mitigation measures.
    • Ensure procurement, design and construction activities remain aligned.
    • Provide accurate project performance reporting to senior leadership teams.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams.
    • Establish a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and excellence.
    • Mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and site teams.
    • Support recruitment and growth of the Bristol delivery team as the regional business expands.
  • Quality, Compliance & Health and Safety
    • Champion a proactive safety culture across all projects.
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and company requirements.
    • Oversee quality assurance processes and project inspections.
    • Drive excellence in project delivery and workmanship standards.
    • Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with company processes and governance.
  • Bristol Office Development
    • Support the launch and growth of Workplace Futures Group's Bristol office.
    • Develop relationships with local consultants, contractors and professional partners.
    • Help establish regional delivery standards and best practice processes.
    • Act as an ambassador for Workplace Futures Group across the South West.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 10 years' experience delivering commercial office refurbishment and fit-out projects.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager on projects valued from £10m+.
  • Strong track record of delivering complex workplace, CAT A and CAT B refurbishment schemes.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficient in project programming and reporting software.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • CSCS Black Card.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Degree qualified in Construction Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Membership of APM, CIOB or equivalent professional body.
  • Experience delivering landmark city-centre commercial developments.
  • Established network within the Bristol and South West construction market.
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices and workplace design trends.
