OVERVIEW
Applications are invited for a Registrar / LAS SpR / Speciality Doctor / StR4+ in ENT Surgery (Ear, Nose & Throat). The post will commence as soon as possible (ASAP). This post offers the opportunity to develop general registrar level skills and possibly more advanced skills for those interested and those doctors with the appropriate experience to do so.
SKILLED WORKER / TIER 2 CERTIFICATE OF SPONSORSHIP
(formerly Work Permit) Applications from doctors who require a Skilled Worker / Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome. We will consider all doctors with appropriate experience alongside all EU and UK trained doctors. Upon appointment, the relevant paperwork will be issued to the successful applicant, if required.
GENERAL DUTIES (guideline only)
- Appropriate clinical responsibility for patient care delegated by the consultant, including supervision of junior medical staff.
- Participation in the Registrar on-call rota and providing cover in exceptional circumstances.
- Attending clinics, assessing patients, and formulating treatment decisions with consultant guidance.
- Assisting or performing procedures during sessions with the consultant.
- Managing wards with consultant on site during the day and off-site after hours.
- Participation in clinical audit and attending clinical meetings and case conferences.
- Working within a multidisciplinary team, teaching, and training staff as appropriate.
- Communicating with team members, GPs, and community agencies.
- Assessing, caring for, and treating acutely presenting patients referred to the specialty.
- Conducting daily ward rounds, supervising junior doctors.
- Developing and implementing ENT Surgery pathways in collaboration with clinical teams.
- Participating in departmental audits and quality assurance.
- Adhering to hospital policies and GMC guidance on Good Medical Practice.
- Maintaining up-to-date ENT knowledge through continuous medical education.
- Flexibility in working hours to meet department needs.
- Contributing to the hospital\'s broader organizational objectives.
