Overview
The hospital offers an excellent salary with pay enhancement for overtime, shift and out‑of‑hours work. The post averages 39 hours per week, with additional overtime opportunities as required. As a Senior House Officer (SHO) you will work closely with fellow junior doctors, registrars and consultants within your department. You must maintain liaison with colleagues on duty before and after you to ensure adequate communication and continuity of patient care, instruct nursing staff in patient care, and coordinate investigations with other clinical and technical teams.
Professional Development
The post-holder is required to keep themselves fully up‑to‑date with their area of practice and to demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the Trust. The Trust supports the continuing professional development of staff as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians, providing time and financial support for these activities. Medical revalidation, as conducted by the General Medical Council (GMC), confirms a doctor's licence to practise and is a key component of measures designed to improve quality of care for patients.
Professional Study Leave
Professional or study leave is granted for postgraduate purposes approved by the Trust. This includes time off for study, research, teaching, examinations, visiting external clinics and attending professional conferences. The leave allowance is a maximum of 30 days in a 3‑year period.

- IELTS or OET (overall score ≥ 7.5 or grade B) for IMG candidates

Background Checks
All staff with access to children or vulnerable adults must pass a satisfactory DBS check. Overseas candidates require an international police check or character reference.
