Applications are invited for a Registrar Level Adult Psychiatry Doctor. The post will commence as soon as possible (ASAP) and offers opportunities to develop general registrar level skills and possibly advance to further specialist training (ATSM) for candidates with suitable experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess, care for and treat patients presenting acutely to the specialty and referred to the specialty.
- Attend and participate in clinical meetings, case conferences and multidisciplinary team rounds.
- Conduct daily ward rounds on inpatients and supervise junior doctors in patient care.
- Assist in operating sessions with the consultant and perform operations as appropriate.
- Participate in clinical audit and quality assurance processes.
- Provide cover on the SPR on-call rota and support colleagues during exceptional circumstances.
- Teach and train staff, nursing and support staff in relevant medical disciplines.
- Coordinate patient care with allied medical, surgical, and community agencies.
- Maintain professional development and continuous medical education in psychiatric practice.
- Support integrated psychiatry pathways across the Trust.
- Abide by Clinical & Corporate Governance policies and Good Medical Practice guidelines.
- Contribute to corporate and organisational needs of the Trust.
Qualifications
- GMC Registration Essential.
- Ability to cope with a varying workload.
- IELTS overall score 7.5 or OET Grade 'B' for International Medical Graduates.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- International police check or character reference required for overseas candidates.
- Knowledge of DBS requirements for staff with access to children or vulnerable adults.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £59,175 – £95,400 per annum, based on the national salary scale outlined in the Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions. The Trust supports continuing professional development, medical revalidation and provides time and financial support for educational activities.
