Workonomics is partnering with a small, fast-growing AI-first software company building intelligent automation platforms for large UK enterprises and public-sector organisations. The company builds and runs software products that automate high-friction operational processes and scale across entire industries.
Why this company? “AI-first” here isn’t a buzzword — it’s the organising principle. Every system, process, and platform is designed so AI does the heavy lifting, allowing a small team to deliver disproportionate impact. The business model is built around reusable platforms, recurring revenue, and compounding IP, not one-off projects.
You’ll work on a core AI automation platform that’s deployed in real, mission-critical environments across sectors like manufacturing, insurance, retail, FMCG, and central government. We’re hiring Product Engineers who enjoy building high-quality backend systems and working close to real customer problems.
You’ll spend most of your time:
- Designing and building distributed systems, APIs, and integrations
- Embedding AI / LLM-powered capabilities into real operational workflows
- Working directly with enterprise users to understand how systems behave in the real world
This role will suit engineers who want technical depth, ownership, and customer context. You enjoy building robust systems and learning how intelligent components fit into real software.
You likely bring:
- Strong experience building distributed systems (Python, Node, Java or similar)
- Solid understanding of API design, integrations, and system reliability
- Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
- Comfort working with data pipelines, queues, and operational datasets
- Curiosity about AI / LLMs and a willingness to experiment
- Confidence engaging directly with customers and translating workflows into code
Equity via a transparent, level-based framework. Mon–Thu in a central London office (small team, high collaboration). High-impact work, no bloat, no busywork — just serious engineering problems.
