Workonomics are partnering with a British-founded healthtech startup tackling one of the hardest and most consequential problems in modern healthcare: care co‑ordination in overstretched systems. The team is building an AI co‑worker already live in UK hospitals. It helps care teams reason across complex patient pathways in seconds, replacing fragmented, manual processes with accurate, up‑to‑date, actionable intelligence. This is not a demo or a pilot. The product is deployed in real-world settings, used daily by frontline teams, and directly influencing outcomes. They’re now growing their founding team and looking for engineers who want to work close to users, ship quickly, and help define how AI is responsibly deployed in high‑stakes environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with users, translating real‑world needs into reliable software
- Work on real‑time data flows, async systems, and distributed architectures
- Build and evolve agentic AI systems used in live, production settings
- Contribute to technical and architectural decisions at an early stage
- Design and ship end‑to‑end product features
Qualifications
- Experienced in building production systems using backend Python and/or TypeScript
- Working with APIs, distributed systems, and modern cloud platforms
- Balancing high engineering standards with speed and pragmatism
- Shipping in fast‑moving product environments with real users
- Operating with ambiguity, ownership, and accountability
- Experience with AI / LLM systems
- Experience as an early or founding engineer
- Exposure to healthcare, or other regulated domains
- Natural product instincts and comfort working directly with customers
