What we’re looking for
As Group Professional Support Lawyer, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the strategy that underpins the Group’s legal, technical, and professional excellence in employment law and HR services across our SRA regulated and non-SRA regulated companies. You will provide expert, strategic employment law support to legal management and to solicitors, advisers, and consultants across the Group, through the development of high-quality legal resources, thought leadership, training, and effective knowledge management. In doing so, you will help ensure the business remains legally compliant, technically robust, and commercially responsive in a fast-moving employment law environment.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and interpreting legislative, case law, and regulatory developments; producing clear, practical guidance; maintaining internal precedents and resources; and contributing to external publications and consultations. You will lead the Group’s knowledge management framework, design and deliver both in-person and online training and professional development programmes, and serve as a technical reference for complex issues, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, external partners, and professional bodies, you will contribute to strategic projects, service development, and market positioning, while also leading and developing the PSL team to ensure consistent delivery of expert advice across the Group.
About you
You will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or FCILEx (England & Wales), ideally with 5+ years’ PQE, and bring a strong background in UK employment law gained through advisory, and/or fixed-fee work. Experience in a Professional Support Lawyer role or similar is desirable, alongside a proven interest in knowledge development, training, and technical excellence. You will have extensive knowledge of employment law in a commercial context, with experience drafting exceptional legal content, developing and delivering effective training programmes, and contributing to or managing knowledge management systems. You will demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to engage and support colleagues at all levels. Just as importantly, you will be collaborative, approachable, and passionate about quality, thriving in, and contributing to, our genuinely supportive, inclusive, and high performing culture where people are encouraged to grow, share expertise, and do their best work together.
