About the Role:
Workmate Agency are recruiting a Transport Manager for Europe’s leading mobile marketing, medical, and broadcast operator. This senior operational role is responsible for managing the company’s fleet operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and financial control, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. You will oversee vehicle management, driver performance, compliance with legislation, and reporting to senior management, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet & Financial Management
- Oversee vehicle acquisition, leasing, disposal, and registration for compliance with zone restrictions (e.g., Dart Charge, ULEZ).
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, fuel efficiency, and penalty charge notices.
- Work within allocated budgets for vehicle operations and maintenance.
- Compliance & Legislation
- Ensure adherence to O Licence requirements and maintain DVSA compliance.
- Keep vehicles compliant with FORS Gold, ISO, and other relevant accreditations.
- Monitor transport and fleet legislation changes and implement updates.
- Driver Management & Development
- Manage and develop drivers, providing training on vehicles, compliance expectations, and safety procedures.
- Conduct accident and driver investigations, reporting outcomes to Senior Leadership Team.
- Implement vehicle on-boarding processes and monitor driver behaviour using tracking systems.
- Process Improvement & Reporting
- Review operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Develop models to minimise vehicle downtime during holidays or sickness.
- Report monthly on operational performance, incidents, and key issues to senior management.
- Customer & Operational Excellence
- Resolve customer transport-related complaints effectively.
- Collaborate with operations and sales teams to improve vehicle utilisation and cost efficiency.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, and compliance.
- Manager CPC / CPC National or International.
- Strong knowledge of UK Transport laws, O Licence obligations, DVSA regulations, and FORS accreditations.
- Experience with vehicle tracking systems, driver appraisals, and accident investigations.
- Financial acumen: budgeting, analysing transport costs, and managing vehicle leases.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and strong organisational abilities.
- Experience in managing accident investigations and driver appraisals.
