The Sustainability Consultant will support the delivery of sustainability consultancy services across a varied portfolio of commercial real estate assets. The role focuses on practical delivery, translating sustainability strategies into clear, actionable outputs at the asset and project level. Working within a structured delivery environment, the consultant will support services such as ESG‑enhanced Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Net Zero Asset Plans, and wider sustainability advisory projects. The role involves contributing to multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and clarity in all deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of sustainability‑aligned planned maintenance plans
  • Reviewing building systems and identifying sustainability and performance improvement opportunities
  • Assisting with data analysis and action planning for Net Zero Asset Plans
  • Maintaining project trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Supporting sustainability inputs across design and refurbishment projects
  • Drafting sections of client‑facing reports and summaries

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, building services, sustainability, or a related discipline, with 1‑3 years’ professional experience in a relevant technical or consultancy role.
  • Basic understanding of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, and renewables, and an awareness of sustainability principles within the built environment, including energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
  • Comfortable working within structured processes and defined methodologies, with the ability to manage and progress multiple tasks across different projects at the same time.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data; capable of reviewing, interpreting, and analysing building and energy data to support informed decision‑making.
  • Practical and delivery‑focused, with a bias toward getting work completed to a high standard and issued on time, while maintaining consistency across outputs.
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive, with clear communication skills and a collaborative approach; confident working independently once tasks are defined, while seeking clarity or support when required.
