An Assistant Client Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting processes and monthly reporting of a diverse property portfolio consisting of commercial, industrial, and retail properties. The role requires regular and direct communication with the accounts team, property managers, tenants, and clients to ensure the production of accurate and timely accounting records.
What matters most in this role:
- Building and maintaining close professional relationships with clients, tenants, and colleagues within the accounting teams and the wider business.
- Using initiative is encouraged.
- A high volume of processing of financial data, along with thorough reviews and reporting of this data to clients.
- Leading the Accounts Administrators and supporting the Client Accountants within the team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to internal and client KPIs.
To be successful in this role, you will require a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills, as well as good team working skills and a desire to learn and develop within your role.
Duties will include:
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly client reports, including VAT and IPD reporting.
- Cash management of client funds ensuring money is transferred in line with client requirements.
- Management of lease information.
- Client and tenant query resolution.
- Preparing and transferring the rental income to the client.
- Updating control spreadsheets.
- Management of central inboxes.
- Any other duties that will ensure the smooth running of the accounting department.

- A proactive, practical, and positive approach to work.
- Excellent and professional communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues.
- Studying ACCA or AAT level 4 is preferred.
- IT and software skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel.
