About The Role

A Rates Payable Administrator who is responsible for the monthly processing of rates installments for a diverse property portfolio consisting of commercial, industrial and retail properties. The role requires regular and direct communication, as well as email and phone correspondence with our property managers and councils, to ensure timely processing and payment of rates installments. You will work closely with the rates payable team as well as the Property Management teams to provide a best-in-class service to our clients.

  • Building and maintaining close professional relationships with councils and colleagues within the accounting teams and the wider business is paramount to your success.
  • Using your initiative will be encouraged.
  • The role requires a high volume of processing of rates installments on behalf of our clients.
  • This role will involve supporting the Senior Accounts Payable Administrator, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to internal and client KPIs to ensure a best-in-class service is delivered to all Workman clients.

To be successful in this role, you will require a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational, prioritisation and communication skills, as well as good teamwork and a desire to learn and develop within your role.

  • Preparing monthly installment payments
  • Speaking directly to councils to discuss individual cases
  • Working closely with other departments
  • Understanding business rates, council tax, and BID Levy's
  • Dealing with internal and external queries
  • CHAPS payments

Salary Band £22,500-£27,000

  • A proactive, practical, and positive approach to work is required.
  • Excellent and professional communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with your colleagues, both within accounts and the wider business.
  • No accounting qualifications are required for this role; however, the following are key skill requirements:
  • Math's & English G.C.S.E 9-4/A-C
  • Good Numeracy Skills
  • IT & Software Skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel
