Overview

A Client Accountant who is responsible for the management of client relationships, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of all reporting and recording of accounting transactions for a diverse property portfolio consisting of commercial, industrial, and retail properties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain close professional relationships with clients, tenants, and colleagues within accounting and the wider business.
  • Communicate regularly and directly with the accounts team, property managers, tenants, and clients to ensure accurate and timely accounting records.
  • Work closely with the accounts team and Property Management teams to provide best‑in‑class service to clients.
  • Lead the Assistant Client Accountant and Accounts Administrators, ensuring tasks are completed on time and meet internal and client KPIs.
  • Process a high volume of financial data, conduct thorough reviews, and generate reports for clients.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly client reports, including VAT and IPD reporting.
  • Ensure all client KPIs are met and client/company procedures are followed.
  • Review work of Assistant Client Accountants and Accounts Administrators.
  • Train Assistant Client Accountants and Accounts Administrators.
  • Manage cash and client funds, ensuring money transfers align with client requirements.
  • Maintain lease information.
  • Resolve client and tenant queries.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the accounting department.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills.
  • Team‑working ability and a desire to learn and develop.
  • Studying ACCA or holding an AAT qualification is preferred.
  • Maths & English GCSE 9‑4/A‑C, strong numeracy and problem‑solving skills.
  • IT and software skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel.
