<div><p>Octopus Energy for Business (OEB) is a rapidly scaling energy supplier with more than 130k business customers.

We’ve pioneered PPA‑backed supply for mid‑market businesses through Electric Match, led the way for SME smart tariffs with Shape Shifters and are the established market leader for enabling EV public charging through energy supply and services.</p> <p>We are expanding beyond energy supply and smart tariffs to install and optimise low‑carbon technology—primarily batteries—at business sites.

Partners with solar where appropriate, the role leads project development for battery projects at business customer sites, focusing on mid‑market clients (100 k W‑1 MW).

The position is London‑based and requires regular travel to customer sites.</p> <h2>What you’ll do</h2> <ul> <li>Develop on‑site battery projects, co‑located with solar if beneficial, to save customers money and reduce grid capacity constraints.</li> <li>Conduct customer site visits for project development, technical evaluation and health & safety assurance.</li> <li>Lead techno‑economic modelling for on‑site battery and solar projects.</li> <li>Engage with selected OEMs, EPCs and installers to specify optimally sized and priced battery and solar systems, and associated services for business customers.</li> <li>Support commercial proposals and presentations for behind‑the‑meter projects.</li> <li>Manage vendor relationships with preferred suppliers across OEMs, EPCs and installers, prioritising cost, quality, reliability and safety.</li> <li>Work with commercial and legal teams to own and evolve contract templates for delivering on‑site energy solutions, both for customer and supplier contracts.</li> </ul> <h2>What you’ll need</h2> <ul> <li>Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast‑paced environment.</li> <li>Professional accountability and a willingness to take initiative.</li> <li>Passion for supporting businesses with energy solutions that reduce costs.</li> <li>Professional experience and track record in distributed energy, especially battery technology at the >100 k W scale.</li> <li>Broad technical expertise in on‑site project development, techno‑economic modelling, electrical health & safety, technical site evaluations, equipment specifications and vendor management.</li> <li>Strong technical grounding in low‑carbon technology, particularly battery systems, with solar expertise also helpful.</li> <li>Familiarity with flexibility markets and how optimised batteries create customer value.</li> </ul> <p>As an equal‑opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute.
