WSR are recruiting for a Sales Support & Customs Coordinator for our esteemed client in Bristol.
Role Type: Permanent
Location: Bristol – Hybrid working offered – 3 days in office p/w
Salary: Up to £35k p/a
Are you experienced in import/export operations and thrive on keeping international shipments moving smoothly? This is a great opportunity to join a busy, fast-paced operation where your expertise in customs, logistics, and compliance will make a real impact.
Role Overview
You’ll play a key role in managing the end-to-end movement of goods, ensuring all import and export activity is compliant, efficient, and delivered on time. Acting as the go-to expert for customs and trade matters, you’ll work closely with freight partners, suppliers, finance, and internal teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage all import and export activity, including equipment, spare parts, and returns
- Book freight, coordinate deliveries and collections, and resolve shipment delays
- Liaise with freight forwarders and customs intermediaries to ensure full compliance
- Prepare and manage import/export documentation in line with UK and international regulations
- Create export certificates (EUR1, ATR, Certificates of Origin)
- Respond to HMRC queries and support ongoing regulatory compliance
- Coordinate duty, VAT, and customs charges with Finance
- Support VAT and duty reconciliations and monthly reporting
- Assign and maintain commodity codes in collaboration with technical teams
- Continuously improve import/export processes and documentation
- Provide general administrative and operational support where required
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in import/export and customs compliance (UK/EU)
- Strong working knowledge of HMRC regulations and customs procedures
- Experience working with freight forwarders and customs agents
- Confident using ERP systems (SAP or similar)
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
