WSR is recruiting for a Part-Time Accountant on behalf of a friendly and forward-thinking accountancy practice.

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 pro rata, depending on experience

Hours: 20 - 25 hours per week, with the potential to increase

Working pattern: Flexible hours, including school hours

Location: Olney - Flexible working available, with free onsite parking

The Role

  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns, management accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment
  • Reviewing limited company accounts prepared by other team members before finalisation
  • Completing bookkeeping tasks using Xero and Dext
  • Communicating confidently with clients through meetings, telephone calls and messages
  • Providing proactive advice and helping clients better understand their financial position
  • Managing your own workload and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
  • Contributing to weekly team meetings and regular MS Teams check-ins

About You

  • Hold a minimum of AAT Level 4
  • Have at least three years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Be confident using Xero, with Dext experience also desirable
  • Be able to manage their own workload and work independently
  • Have strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Be proactive, organised and comfortable identifying ways to improve clients’ financial processes
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive team
