WSR is recruiting for a Head of Finance & Administration for our esteemed client in Milton Keynes.
Salary: £50k-£55k Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5pm
Location: Milton Keynes - Fully Office-Based
Are you a hands-on finance leader who enjoys owning the numbers, shaping decisions, and being part of a close-knit leadership team? We’re looking for an experienced Head of Finance & Administration to take full responsibility for finance and business support functions within a small UK operation. This is a standalone role with real autonomy, influence, and visibility.
Role Overview
As the senior finance lead on site, you’ll manage everything from day-to-day accounting through to financial planning, analysis and reporting. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key role in supporting business performance and decision-making. Alongside finance, you’ll also oversee HR administration and local IT coordination, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance & Reporting
- Full responsibility for UK accounting and financial controls
- Month-end, year-end and annual close
- Budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and capex control
- Monthly reporting and financial analysis for senior stakeholders
- Providing clear commercial insight to support business decisions
- Controlling & Compliance
- P&L forecasting, KPI tracking and margin analysis
- Cost centre control, expenses and credit control
- VAT, HMRC and regulatory compliance
- Maintaining strong internal controls and accurate data
- HR & IT Administration
- Payroll coordination with external provider
- Employee records, onboarding and offboarding support
- Pensions, tax and benefits administration
- Acting as the local contact for IT support
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Proven experience in a hands-on, autonomous finance role
- Comfortable working in a small business or standalone capacity
- Strong systems experience (ERP essential, SAP desirable)
- Confident communicator with a proactive, commercial mindset
