Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm (3:30pm finish on Fridays)

An established and growing manufacturing company based in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Controller to join its dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CIMA-qualified finance professional with a background in manufacturing to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the finance function within an ambitious and forward-thinking business. Overview of the Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will take responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations, oversee the finance team, and drive improvements in systems and reporting. The successful candidate will combine strong technical skills with a proactive and hands-on approach, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight across all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple entities, including reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance, and month-end journals.
- Support annual budget and forecast preparation.
- Produce management reports, including project profitability, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards.
- Manage the financial aspects of the ERP system (Microsoft Business Central) to enhance reporting and control.
- Oversee debtor collection, supplier payments, and invoice discounting facility operations.
- Supervise daily finance activities, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payroll.
- Maintain robust financial controls, ensure timely submission of VAT, payroll, and pension-related returns.
- Support ad-hoc initiatives and process improvement projects.
Key Requirements
- CIMA-qualified (or equivalent) with proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Business Central.
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
