Role Overview
As Head of Finance & Administration, you'll lead all aspects of finance, reporting, compliance, and business support functions. Acting as the key link between the UK operation and the wider European group, you'll influence business decisions, drive financial performance, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance & Reporting: Lead all financial operations, including accounting, payroll oversight, reporting, and annual accounts. Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis. Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and capital expenditure. Provide commercial insight and financial guidance to the leadership team.
- Business Performance & Controls: Monitor KPIs, profitability, margins, and business performance. Oversee credit control, insurance matters, and cash management. Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial data. Drive process improvements and support best‑practice alignment across international teams.
- HR & Administration: Oversee employee records, onboarding, payroll coordination, pensions, and general HR administration. Support recruitment activities and employee relations. Manage company fleet administration and HR systems.
- IT Coordination: Act as the local point of contact for IT matters. Support the wider IT team with infrastructure, systems, and troubleshooting requirements.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small finance team, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit Control functions.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Strong SAP experience is essential for this position. Candidates must be able to quickly operate within an established SAP environment with minimal training.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified, or a qualified‑by‑experience finance professional with substantial senior‑level finance leadership experience.
- Proven experience in a hands‑on, autonomous finance leadership role.
- Strong background within an SME, subsidiary, or multi‑site business environment.
- Extensive experience across financial reporting, forecasting, compliance, cash flow management, and commercial finance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercially focused, proactive, and able to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
