This is a Full Time, Permanent Position. Hull Training and Adult Education is part of Hull City Council and is one of the largest providers of vocational training and further education in the region, with an excellent reputation for delivering quality courses to industry. Recently rated by Ofsted as good for delivering apprenticeships we are looking to add to our team of skilled tutors and expand our digital offer.

We are seeking a forward-thinking Digital Tutor to deliver the Level 4 Artificial Intelligence & Automation Practitioner apprenticeship, supporting learners to develop the skills needed to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and implement effective digital solutions. The successful candidate will guide apprentices in identifying opportunities for automation, analysing workflows, and applying AI-driven tools to solve real-world business challenges, while ensuring solutions are safe, ethical, and aligned with organisational needs.

In this role, you will deliver engaging teaching, coaching, and workshops that enable learners to design, build, and test digital workflows using low- and no-code tools, as well as support them in evaluating technologies, measuring efficiency improvements, and driving user adoption. You will help apprentices translate complex technical concepts into practical applications, and support change management activities, ensuring learners can confidently implement AI and automation solutions in workplace settings.

The ideal candidate will bring strong practical experience in AI, automation, or digital transformation, with excellent communication and coaching skills, alongside a passion for continuous learning and innovation to keep pace with emerging technologies and industry trends. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.

ROLE AND PURPOSE

  • Supports the Centre manager and Deputy Head of service lead manager in implementing the learning and development approach.
  • Working in Hull training Adult Education (HTAE) enabling services in the delivery of City workforce development and local employers upskilling targets to achieve business plans for their business.
  • Working with HTAE Executive Board, Elected Members, Assistant Director and Head of Service at all levels across the partnership to ensure the learning creates wider opportunities for the organisational upskilling and underpins the achievement of the City Economic Plan and LSIP targets.
  • The post holder will be directly responsible for the effective coaching, teaching, planning and organising of occupational skills training to apprenticeship standards and technical certificates as needed, assessing and reviewing learner’s progress and maximising the use of resources.
  • Responsible for their own teaching, assessment and quality of the engineering programmes delivered at the engineering centre.
  • Developing and providing curriculum that meets the requirements of local people, companies, commerce and industry.
  • The post holder will provide individualised high quality careers education information advice and guidance (CEIAG) to existing and future cohorts internally and externally engaging learners and employers whilst promoting the service’s engineering provision.
  • The post holder will ensure that effective Gatsby benchmarks are implemented within their curriculum plans.
  • The post holder will be expected to deliver high quality Apprenticeship standards and will be responsible for the coaching and delivery to learners to achieve skills, behaviours, and knowledge to pass their apprenticeship to a distinction level wherever possible.
  • The postholder will be responsible for the health & safety of their designated workshops and individual work-based section 10 assessments, ensuring all health & safety documentation including risk assessments and COSHH data sheets are in place and kept up to date.
  • The post holder will maintain a minimum funded learner caseload, in line with policy and to be agreed with the line manager based on the particular sector subject area(s), the type of employment placement and geographical spread of students.
  • This role will also be required to undertake service Internal Verification duties.
  • To carry out the role, ensuring service standards performance indicators, and statutory requirements are met.
  • Responsible for maintaining all electronic and paper records in accordance with service standards and ESFA contract requirements.
  • To support the continual improvement cycle by ensuring all information requests from quality team are satisfied in a timely manner and records are maintained to meet the required standards as per ESFA contract expectations.
  • The post holder will be responsible for recording outcomes, evaluating activities and meeting project targets and deadlines.

  • Customer Focus – Undertakes the identification of learning needs and responsible for designing, developing, and implementing learning resources to develop programme delivery and maximise learner performance and achievement.
  • Performance Management – High impact on the outcomes for HTAE young people and adults in terms of improving performance through effective learning and development.
  • Statutory Obligations – None.
  • Leadership – Leads on learning programmes and provides consultancy to employers, advice and guidance on these, in support of strategic priorities and awarding body guidelines.
  • Service Delivery – Ensures equality of access to all learning programmes.
  • Team Development and Capability – Aids the team to have the right skills, knowledge and attitudes to perform their duties.
  • Self Management and Development – Builds a reputation of respect from customers, peers and managers.
  • Accurately record, input, and maintain tracking of learner progress across all elements of their programme through to completion.
  • Participate in appropriate marketing activities and events/workshops to promote apprenticeship programmes and raise awareness amongst potential future learners, parents / carers and relevant agency advisors.
  • Working with others to ensure the complete and accurate delivery of apprenticeship programmes within funded timescales.
