Overview
A skilled Maintenance Engineer for a growing Clinical Waste client. This is a hands-on role responsible for keeping plant and equipment running reliably, minimising downtime, and delivering continual improvement.
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 per annum
- Monday to Friday (with on‑call rota)
- 20 days annual leave
- Opportunity to work on projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed preventive and corrective maintenance in line with schedules and safety procedures.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on plant, machinery and process equipment.
- Provide rapid technical response to breakdowns to minimise downtime, applying safe working practices at all times.
- Investigate root cause of failures in reactive maintenance scenarios and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Plan and coordinate planned plant shutdowns around site operations.
- Organise and manage contractors during onsite works to ensure quality, safety and timely completion.
- Procure parts and liaise with suppliers as required.
Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Proven maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and respond effectively under pressure.
- Good communication skills and experience dealing with contractors and suppliers.
- Willingness to participate in on‑call.
Desirable
- Welding experience.
- Experience delivering small projects and continuous improvement activities.
