• Direct, personal customer-facing delivery experience (sat with a customer, scoped a problem, shipped against it) (Must-have)
• High agency / "hardcore" work ethic — self-directed without heavy oversight (Must-have)
• Customer-facing communication — can translate technical constraints for a non-technical finance stakeholder (Must-have)
• Ownership language — speaks in "I built / I owned," not just "we" (Must-have)
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid, iterative scope changes (Must-have)

About The Company

Our client is building the AI-native ERP for modern finance teams. Every business needs a financial system of record, yet the world's largest fintech market ($220B+) still runs largely on software from the 1990s. This company's platform automates accounting from data entry all the way to close, so finance teams move faster, spend less, and take on less risk.

In just two years, they've raised $100M+ from top-tier venture capital and growth investors, and have earned the trust of customers ranging from $5M ARR startups to publicly traded companies.

They hire outliers — people who have achieved difficult things, in their careers or beyond. The team includes former competitive athletes at the highest levels of their sport, performers who've been on Broadway, people who've trained with UFC champions, and the founder of one of the country's largest Python communities.

Where You'll Create Impact

• Build. This is a hands-on, ship-things role.
• Embed on named customer projects and own them end to end: discovery, design, build, deploy, and verify.
• Build migration and integration pipelines on Temporal that are idempotent, resumable, and auditable.
• Model and load customer accounting data into Postgres correctly, including reconciling against their existing system.
• Build internal tooling so recurring one-offs stop being one-offs.
• Feed patterns back into the core product, and productize or hand off anything that becomes permanent.
• Compress the path from “customer requested” to “shipped.”

What Sets You Up For Success

• Hardcore work ethic and high agency.
• 5+ years shipping production full-stack software, end to end and unsupervised.
• Django and DRF, plus Postgres beyond ORM defaults — you read query plans and have run migrations against live data with customers on it.
• Next.js and React with TypeScript.
• Durable workflow experience — Temporal preferred, but Celery is fine.
• Direct customer exposure in past roles — you've sat with a customer, scoped the problem with them, and shipped against it.
• Experience with third-party APIs, webhooks, rate limits, and reconciling two systems that disagree.

Nice to Have

• Accounting, ERP, or fintech domain knowledge: double-entry, chart of accounts, close, AP/AR, revenue recognition.
• Prior forward-deployed, applied, or special-projects experience.
• Judgment about when to ship a script versus build a system.

Compensation & Benefits

• Equity: $50,000 – $80,000
• Base salary: $150,000 – $280,000
