Are you an experienced HGV Technician ready for your next challenge? We’re expanding our busy Bridgwater Depot and are looking for a proactive and skilled Workshop Technician to join our team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of in-house fleet repairs, work with a supportive team, and develop your skills in a dynamic environment.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay: £20.03 per hour
- Overtime after 47.5 hours: £25.04 per hour
- Enhanced Weekend Rates: Saturday: £25.04 per hour, Sunday: £30.05 per hour
- Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday with occasional weekends, 10 hrs a day – flexible start times
Your Role:
- Inspect and maintain our HGV fleet to meet both legal and company standards
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and handle transport to the Test Centre
- Record defects and maintain accurate service records
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including minor accident damage
- Work with a range of vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment
- Deliver high standards of customer service and collaborate effectively with the wider team
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a similar role (essential)
- Hands-on commercial HGV experience
- A can-do attitude and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
- Attention to detail with excellent record-keeping
- No more than 6 minor points on your license (no CDs, DDs, DRs, or INs)
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in Motor Vehicle Management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry
