We are recruiting for a temporary long term IT Systems & Network Support Engineer to work for our client based on the outskirts of Boston. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm but in the future there is a possibility that the hours may be changed so that work will be between 8am and 6pm.
Our client is looking for an IT Systems & Network Support Engineer to join their team in a temporary role. This involves supporting and maintaining core IT infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient system operations, and providing technical support cover.
Key Responsibilities- Implement a multi-factor authentication solution (e.g., Cisco Duo or similar 2FA platforms)
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network systems, including both hardware and software components
- Provide support for network infrastructure such as switches, routers, and connectivity issues
- Assist in the maintenance and support of Linux-based systems (preferred)
- Provide cover for IT support to end users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Monitor system performance and ensure security best practices are followed
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration
- Experience with two-factor authentication solutions (Cisco Duo or similar)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, configurations, and hardware
- Basic to intermediate Linux system knowledge (preferred)
- Problem-solving skill
- Excellent communication
- Certifications in networking or systems administration (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft certifications)
- Experience with IT security best practices and tools
