Pay: £56,500 a year

Pay breakdown on this role: Basic rate per hour will be £24.37 + shift bonus of £1.50 per hour. Overtime rate per hour will be £30.47 + shift bonus of £1.50 per hour. This equates to a yearly salary of £56,500.

Are you a multi‑skilled maintenance engineer team leader with experience in conveying systems, product detection, and packaging machinery in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment, looking to join a forward‑thinking family‑owned business? Our Client are investing over £10 million in their operations and infrastructure, and they want passionate, expert engineers to help drive their success.

Your Role as an Engineer Team Leader

They want their engineers to have the autonomy to find improvements that can be made, order the relevant parts through their stores, and make the improvement. This not only improves the safety and performance of how the machinery runs, but it also makes the job they do more engaging and ultimately more enjoyable. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will use your engineering knowledge and skills as a team in the upkeep and improvement of this factory, its amenities, and its production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of machinery and systems, including: automated, network‑linked milling, process, and packing equipment; gas‑fired ovens; mill equipment designed to grind, sieve, store and handle ingredients; extruders and mixers; conveying systems with associated motors and drive systems; QR coded CMMS system; forklift trucks, cherry picker & scissor lift; lighting & electrical supplies; steam boiler with associated pipework and valves; hydraulics and pneumatics; site amenities.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot breakdowns, minimising downtime and ensuring quick resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to optimise equipment performance.
  • Contribute to improvement projects as part of their ongoing investment in the facility.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.

Training and Development Opportunities

Our Client likes to invest in their engineers. Mechanically biased engineers with electrical experience but without qualifications, we offer a 15‑day Industrial Electrical Maintenance course. This will allow you to obtain the following:

  • EAL Level 3 in Industrial and Panel Wiring.
  • C&G Fundamental Electrical Principles and Practices for Industrial Practices.
  • C&G 2391-52 Initial Inspection and Periodic Testing of Electrical Installations.

Electrically biased engineers with a passion for PLCs, we offer: C&G PLC course. Or, for those who prefer to strengthen their electrical testing skills: C&G 2391-52 Initial Inspection and Periodic Testing of Electrical Installations.

Welcome Bonus: You will automatically receive £150 after successfully completing your probationary period, plus a further £150 3 months later. Site wide bonus scheme based on the companies and individuals’ performance.
