Welding Supervisor Workforce Staffing Brierley Hill, West Midlands, England
Location: Brierley Hill, West Midlands
Pay: £18.00 – £20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Day Shift | Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Welder Foreman to lead a busy welding and fabrication team.
This role would suit an experienced Welder/Fabricator who has previous supervisory experience or is ready to take the next step into a leadership position.
The Role
- Leading and supervising a team of Welders and Fabricators
- Organising daily workloads and allocating work across the team
- Remaining hands‑on with welding and fabrication when required
- MIG welding and fabrication of steel components and structures
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards
- Monitoring productivity and ensuring jobs are completed on time
- Carrying out quality checks and resolving welding or fabrication issues
- Supporting and developing members of the team
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety and housekeeping
- Liaising with management regarding workloads and production priorities
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Strong MIG welding and steel fabrication experience
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- A good understanding of welding quality and fabrication standards
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
- A hands‑on approach with the ability to lead from the front
- Good communication skills and the confidence to manage a team
Previous experience as a Welding Supervisor, Fabrication Foreman, Workshop Foreman or Team Leader would be advantageous.
